Montmartre

Rue d'Orsel is situated in Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement, just around the corner from the steps and funicular to the Sacré-Coeur basilica, the world-renowned monument built in distinctive white stone, which offers some of the best panoramic views over the city.

Montmartre, one of the villages of Paris, retains much of its period charm and appeal.  Frequented by artists, musicians and bohemians in its heyday, little has changed. Quality boutiques, bars and restaurants make this a great area for shopping and exploring but, true to character, a number of the city's most famous night-spots - Madame Arthur, Michou and Le Divan - can also be found nearby on the rue des Martyrs.

The cobbled streets and stairs of Montmartre again found global fame in 'Amelie' the quaint and quirky 2001 film.

Rue d'Orsel lies just two minutes walk from Abbesses metro station and less than five minutes walk from the metro stations at Pigalle and Anvers.  There are frequent bus services from the nearby Boulevard Rochechouart to the city centre and many other parts of the city.  Journey time by taxi from the Gare du Nord is around 10 minutes depending on traffic.
